Every year per the Florida Law, I meet with a Licensed Teacher in my State to provide a portfolio of progress samples of my daughter. It literally feels overwhelming when you over think it. But when you boil it down. Its quite simple. — Samples = one piece of work from say 2020 and then one piece of work from say 2021 — this provides a sample of time period of a year that shows the progress of the child. That is all the State of Florida requires – Which leaves you with a lot of flexibility in how you learn and grow! I take full advantage of this and have created basically a fun website with God and home education along with other interests we have — as the focal point.
This is the first time I’ve done this with a Portfolio and my second time doing this in general as we’ve only been homeschooling since Nov 11th 2019 – We are still learning and from what I’ve seen, even the most seasoned are STILL learning. So, cut yourself some slack. Make a few mistakes. Bask in the “its okay to get messy” and just have some fun with it. I’m sitting on my couch, with a messy lived in living room. My kids just got done eating and were about to do our bedtime routine. There is nothing living in the moment and you have to be intentional about it. So, let me get going! Here is the link to the Portfolio I just created for 2021 – This is comprised of all, and when I say all, I mean ALL our activities for 2020 and 2021 — BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS EDUCATIONAL. Period.
